I live by a few simple principles, the first being, "Enjoy the moments and appreciate the people."
It is never the quantity of time spent, but quality that determines the value of that time. I travel
quite a bit, including for business and when I'm not on the road I work from home.
That dual life
needs balance in different manners - sometimes I seek company because the road gets lonely and other
times I just need a cure for cabin fever.
I love being intellectually stimulated - engage me in a
serious conversation, you're likely to get a perspective you hadn't considered. But again, I find
balance by being outrageous - I don't need the attention, but I can handle it.
There are times when
few words are better. Timing is everything, I guess, and it all goes back to making the most of where
you are today.
Meeting new people, experiencing new things, and putting them on the shelf of memories
in my mind is how I've designed my life and I wouldn't trade it. I don't have expectations going into
any encounter and most of the best moments or people are unexpected pleasant surprises.
I also don't
believe in closure, which means if we have a connection, we can pick it up whenever its mutually convenient
- I don't have to see you everyday or keep you from other people who help make your life complete.
I ask the same in return. Riding the wave and accepting the crash is much better than sitting on
the beach.
